Our California Trip

So we drove to California to do some house hunting last week. We had a blast and we can't wait to move. I wanted to post some pictures of our trip. We left at 9pm on Thursday night so the kids would sleep for us on the way, it was a great idea, (of mine, of course...hehe) because we weren't 5 minutes down the road and they crashed out.

We found a house that is about 5 miles from Joshua tree national park, and we went hiking and walking there everyday. It was a blast, and we can't wait to do more of it. One of the hikes was suppost to be 2 miles there and then 2 miles back, so 4 miles total, but it was going up the mountain for 2 miles straight. It was alot of hard walking, but the kids loved it, and we got to see a really cool old gold mine. The kids were so tired and grumpy by the end, but it was a blast.

Hope ya'll have a great weekend. They are packing us up on Monday, so it'll probably be a little while before I post again. Wish us luck!!!!

Roosters birthday pictures

Rooster got a load for his birthday this year. First he got a BB gun, then a ninja set, and also a bike. Not counting the money he got from Grandparents and Aunts. He had a blast this year, here are some pictures of his big day.

I can't believe I have a six year old!!!

So it seems like we've been celebrating Roosters birthday for weeks now, but today was his "official" day. He woke up this morning bright and early to open presents, then we made monster cupcakes (I'll be posting pictures of them soon). Donny was able to come home early and then we went to ToysRus to get his new bike. He out grows his bike every year. It amazes me how awesome he is on them, and then we went to Red Lobster for dinner. It's his favorite place to eat, he ate three of the garlic biscuit and about 40 shrimp. It was alot of fun, they even let them pet a Lobster. I'll be posting alot of picture as soon as I can of his big day.

So we are off to house hunt in California this weekend, Donny called the base yesterday and there is a 3-5 month wait to move into base housing and we decided no thanks, we'll just find something off base. I'm excited to go check things out. I'll keep you posted. They are packing us up on the 28th, and Donny checks in for work on the 11th of May.

California here we come!

So we thought that they were sending us to North Carolina or Camp Pendleton, because Donny has never deployed, but Friday we got orders to 29 Palms in California for Donny to teach at the training school for two years. We are so excited, because he's not going to have to deploy!!!! We have to be checked in by the 17th of May. I'll keep you posted on our move.

Easter 2008

We had a great Easter this year. I love making some great memories with my wonderful family. They had a blast coloring eggs this year, it was so much fun. Easter morning was so fun with the kids, they came to the playroom and it was covered in balloons from the Easter bunny. Then, they had to find their baskets that the bunny hide. They were so excited to see everything they got. Especially, Katie who got a new baby, and she named him "Tet" (she so comes up with the funniest names.) Rooster and Donny had fun with the toy planes, and then they had a blast going outside and finding all the eggs the bunny left for them. It was a great family day. I made a huge lunch, (it took me 3 hours by myself) and then went fishing and flying kites.

So we only had one snow storm this week. Today is a beautiful sunny day, and I hope it stays this way, the snow depresses me.

Spring in Utah???

So I'm beginning to think that Spring in Utah does not exist. We woke up this morning and our yard and cars were covered with about 4-5 inches of new snow. I'm so sick of it, is it ever going to end? I would love to have the kids parties at the park, but I'm just not sure if the snow will even be over by then. Can you tell that I'm so ready to move? We are still waiting to hear when and where we are going. Happy Monday!

My kids birthdays are coming up.

I can't believe that my baby is going to be 4 and my big boy is going to be 6. Man how time flies, and they are growing up too fast. They are at perfect ages right now and are so much fun, I wish they could stay at this age forever. Katie has started a new thing with me and I love it. Everyday I have to fix here hair like her favorite movie character of the day. (I'm going to take pictures of the different hairstyles, and post them soon!) It started off at Christmas with Cindy Loo Ho (from the Grinch, I have to do three loopy ponytails with one on top with a bow, of course), Annie is her new favorite (curls, curls, and more curls!), Belle from Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella, Ariel (hair has to be down, with a flower hair bow and glitter) and princess Laya from Star wars. It's some fun memories I'm making with her, and I'm glad she lets me play with here hair, everyday.

Rooster has to ride his bike everyday! He is so obsessed with it. The weather was beautiful (until the snow storm today) and we had to go to the park and let him ride, he is so awesome. The last two years we had to get him a new bike for his birthday, because he wears them out and out grows them, and I think it's going to be a new one this year, too.

Lets see, nothing really exciting going on with me, except I'm tanning and loving it. It makes me feel so much better, about me. I've lost 5 lbs in a week, and I've been working out or walking everyday. Me and my sister Leslie are trying to motivate each other to workout. Whoever works out 20 days out of the month has to send the champ $50 to buy a new pair of jeans. So far I think I'm winning, and I hope I'll be down a jean size when I get to buy my new pair.

We are still waiting on our orders to tell us when and where we are moving. It's going to be later then we thought, but that's okay, because I'd like Rooster to be able to finish school here and go on all his fun field trips. Plus, Katie has a May dance recital, and we can't wait to watch our "dancing queen."

Hope everyone is enjoying spring!
